Set in a gourmet restaurant in a faraway galaxy, this work imagines a grotesque, surreal reality where giant cyborgs feast on wealthy humans, merging dark satire with futuristic fantasy. From the perspective of this culinary delicacy, the listener embarks on a journey through the digestive tract of the cyborg, passing through the slimy mouth into a synthetic, acidic oesophagus, sliding down into a rumbling biomechanical stomach….

I created this immersive sci-fi soundscape from my own field recordings, captured using a Tascam DR-40X, a contact microphone, a hydrophone, and Roland CS-10EM binaural buds. The work is available in two formats: a stereo headphone mix and a 5.1 surround mix (the front centre speaker should be positioned directly above the listener). This spatial layout is crucial to the work’s narrative logic and sense of enclosure: the listener isn’t simply observing an environment, but is trapped within.
